Existing research shows that 43% of consumers care greatly about the social and environmental impacts companies have. ECSR should contain the company’s values, community’s values, and answer the five big questions (who, what, when, how, why). A large part of a successful ECSR plan is how it is communicated to the customer; this is crucial because it will help them decide whether or not the company is perceived as sincere. A company website will be used to show good examples of environmental accountability. The author will be reviewing the literature and actual ECSR campaign and interviewing communication professionals. The paper will conclude with the author linking these two entities: the company and the people doing the buying. This link will become clearer and will encourage the reader to consider these factors while deciding between brands in the future.
